We have a very active book club that meets each month at a different member’s home in Christian fellowship to talk about some terrific books. We meet every month from 6:30-8 P.M. All are welcome (even if you haven’t read the book)! Here are our book club selections for September 2018 – August 2019:

October - Moby Dick by Herman Melville
November - The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney.
December – A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy
January - Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf
February - A Mother’s Reckoning by Sue Klebold
March - Once Upon a River by Bonnie Jo Campbell
April - Before the Fall by Noah Hawley
May - The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
June – God Help the Child by Toni Morrison
July - The Book That Matters Most by Ann Hood
August - We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
We are a group of retirees in the church, both couples and singles, that get together once a month and for a variety of events. We generally meet on the 2nd Monday of the month, but meeting dates vary according to the event. Any member or friend of the church is invited to join us. We meet from April to December as many of our members go south for the winter. Here is a glimpse of what we have planned for 2019: a potluck (we love to eat!) and card bingo; a trip to a Rockford Blues Concert on the Dam; a picnic at Silver Lake; a tour of Robinette's Orchard; a travelogue presented by Rev. Laurie; a retirement home tour; and, the annual Christmas potluck party.
The FCC Angels play in a local church league each Tuesday night from May to August from 6:30–9 P.M. Game locations vary throughout the season.
During the spring months, 6- to 8-person groups get together at home or at a restaurant for a meal and fellowship with lots of laughter.
